Traits are the colored bars on enemy units. They define which combat mechanics trigger and which Battler passives pierce them. Bring the wrong team comp and the math simply does not work.

At exactly 50% HP, Red enemies detonate for 20 base AoE damage and gain a permanent 150% damage multiplier. Burst them down with Anti-Red before the threshold.
Black enemies apply a Deathmark counter. Three tracked hits deal the cumulative damage of the last three strikes at once. Bypasses mid-level regen tactics.
On lethal damage, Angel enemies shed their halo and instantly regenerate to 50% HP. Effectively 1.5x eHP. Punishes single-hit burst (Kamikaze Battler) and rewards sustained DPS.
When a Zombie kills an allied Battler, that Battler resurrects as a hostile Zombie under the AI's control. Defensive stall tactics fail here - you must clear the lane aggressively.
Slated for the Chapter 6 expansion. Devil-trait enemies will counter standard Holy Battlers, requiring Holy-attribute Anti-Devil units to bypass their mitigation.
